COVID-19 UPDATE
Dear Customers,
As we all know, the Corona virus pandemic has disrupted many aspects of our lives. I wanted to write to you today to give you an update on what this means for our business and how your orders may be affected. I would also like to share with you what we are doing at The Comic Mint to help.
I want to first assure you that we anticipate filling all pre-orders for every item purchased on our site. The only exception to this was an offering for Strange Academy 1 triple signed books. Those customers have been contacted via a separate email.
Shipping schedules:
Due to the Corona virus, Diamond Distribution has temporarily suspended shipments of new comics. We do not know how long this suspension will last. What this means is that any product that was anticipated to be received after April 1 has been delayed. These items have NOT been canceled. This means that books such as Batman 92, ordered by many of our customers, have been delayed. We do NOT yet have a revised release date.
As many of our customers know, our system assigns ONE shipping charge, and typically orders ship when all items in a particular order have been received. Given the extraordinary current situation, as a courtesy to our customers, we will be scanning USA orders that have in-stock items in addition to delayed pre-orders. We will be splitting out in-stock items for many of these orders and will be sending them now to you for no additional charge.
When we receive more definitive information as to when new shipments from the distributor will commence we will update you.
Business Operations:
The State of Connecticut has temporarily put restrictions in place on non-essential businesses in an effort to curtail the spread of the virus. As such, our capacity for shipments has been reduced. This does not mean shipments have ceased. Again, we will reach out when our shipping capacity has returned to normal.
Helping Hand:
At The Comic Mint, we have always had a community view of our business. In these trying times, we are happy to have made a 10,000 dollar donation to Stamford Hospital in Stamford CT, where we are located. We have also made a donation of 250 dollars to The Gentle Barn, a non-profit that rescues abused and neglected animals. We also will be awarding a total of 5,000 dollars in total to 10 members of our TCM insider Facebook group who are in a severe financial state due to the economic impact of the Corona virus.
I want to personally thank YOU our customers who have supported The Comic Mint over the last several years. We are available to assist you should you have any questions at customerservice@thecomicmint.com.
Thank you!
Steven Finkel
