Junji Ito is widely considered the father of horror manga with iconic titles such as Uzumaki and Tomie, but this newer collection of short stories is both a great entry point for beginners, and a good way for existing Ito fans to get to know his more recent work. Ito’s style is creatively grotesque in a way that twists the quotidian into something terrifying, so skillfully done that it’s often considered a fantastic beginner manga for horror lovers. In our humble opinion, Black Paradox is no exception!
